DOING A WEBLOG

Part of the reason to do a blog is that you just want to say something.   Kind of like a diary, but you share.  There’s always the line between very personal and simply ranting.

For instance, I’m going through a terrible personal experience at home right now, I’d love to talk about it with someone, but you’re not it.  So, I ignore it here.

There’s a thing that happens to bloggers; you get visitors.  That’s cool, somebody’s listening.  Neat.

Then you start to worry when the number of visitors drops.  What did I do wong?  It’s simple; if someone comes to your site and likes what they see, they come back.  If you have nothing new to offer, they drop away.  This creates the desire to keep writing.

We have stats that tell us how many folks visit, and where they link from to get here.  That’s about it.  Nothing personal.  For instance, I know that virtually all of you come here via All Nudist.  That’s all I know.  This site is so new that it doesn’t exist anywhere else.

The demon is the stats.  Pretty soon you start to live for the stats and write to keep ‘em coming!  New content drives visits.  Comparison:  All Nudist avg. 2-3000 hits per day.  Overflow 30. Hey, it’s new.

I don’t want to do that here.  Sorry.  The temtation is great, but this is really just a place for me to vent, when I feel like it.  I don’t want it to become a chore.  OK?

I administer 4 websites, no pay, I don’t really need to get addicted to this one, though part of me wants to.

So forgive me if time passes between postings.  Stop in once in a while, maybe once a week and see if anything new is added.  I just can’t keep up to the tempo of daily postings right now.  Thanks!  -Steve
